GG50 & LG50 MAINTENANCE

NOZZLE INSPECTION – RECOMMENDED EVERY 6-12 MONTHS

  1. Check for any apparent physical damage to components of Nozzle.
  2. Inspect Valve Seal for damage (ie cuts or excessive wear).
  3. Check that there is free movement of Connector Assembly when engaging Adaptor. Pull back the Retaining Sleeve and make sure the Locking Ring is centred under the five Locking Balls.
  4. Inspect the nozzle Inlet Swivel. The Swivel should be secured by the Grub Screw through the nozzle body. The Swivel should rotate freely.
  5. Check the free movement of the Valve through the Connector Assembly when not connected to an adaptor, (i.e., pull back the Retaining Sleeve and activate the Lever several times) making sure there is free movement forward and the Valve returns to its inactive position when the Lever is released. Remove the Connector Assembly and clean and lubricate component if movement is not free.
  6. Inspect the Latch Assembly making sure that the bushes are firmly attached to the Latch Pin. The Latch Spring must hold the Latch above the Lever Latch Pin before latching.
  7. Fit a blanked adaptor to the Connector Assembly. Activate the Lever and check for Valve opening. Whilst the Valve is open, check for Nose Seal and “U” Seal leakage using soapy water.
  8. Using soapy water check for leaks at inlet Swivel, Nozzle Body & Valve Assembly.

N.B. If there is Seal leakage or component damage, it is recommended that the Seals associated with the leakage and components, be replaced. Refer to L.G. Equipment’s Recommended Maintenance and Repair Manual for Repairs and testing of Nozzles.

TWENTY-FOUR MONTH INSPECTION & SERVICE.

L.G. Equipment recommends that a new Seal Kit be fitted throughout the Nozzle. Whilst this may seem extreme it will extend the life/service life of the Nozzle and reduce the occurrence of Nozzle downtime in service. Refer to the LG50 Gasguard Maintenance and Repair Manuals for the servicing.
